Cards are shuffled on the server, by the same generator a browser uses to make encryption keys. Here is exactly how.
Fisher–Yates: walk the deck from the back, swapping each card with one drawn from the cards not yet placed. With an unbiased draw at every step, all 52! orders of the deck are equally likely. The board works the same way — every card still in the deck is reshuffled before the flop, the turn and the river.
Every swap draws from randomInt in Node’s crypto module — the operating system’s own source of randomness, documented to avoid the rounding bias a plain remainder introduces. Math.random does appear in this codebase: bot decisions, room codes, and how long a bot pauses before it acts. It never touches a card.
The deck is built, shuffled and dealt server-side. No player’s browser ever holds it. Nothing seeds the shuffle either, so there is no starting number to reuse and no two hands begin from the same place.
Unpredictable and unbiased is what that adds up to. What it is not is a receipt: there is nothing published for you to check a finished hand against afterwards.
Every hand is written down while you play. Open the panel mid-session and read back the whole night — no one has to remember what happened three hands ago.
It is there while the game is running, not just at the end — so the answer to “wait, what did they have?” is two taps away instead of an argument.
End the session and everyone sees the same numbers. No one reconstructing the night from memory.
Every buy-in, rebuy, and final stack is tracked automatically. When the last hand is over, the tally is already done.
Chips are for gameplay only. They have no cash value and cannot be cashed out. .
